We decided to honor AD's biome choice here, however also made an optional patch to change its biome to tropical dry forest. This animal was placed in the scrub biome, and is listed as such in the biomes website, however many Madagascan plants made by AD are in the Tropical Dry Forest biome instead. These changes were primarily decided by looking at AD's biomes website, which lists example animals for some biomes, which were not changed on release, or for consistency with other animals. Extinct in the Wild is coded to count as "endangered animals" for challenge/campaign purposes. Also, the following new statuses have been adeed: Near Threatened, Extinct in the Wild, Data Deficient, Domesticated, Not Evaluated, and Lower Risk has been renamed to Least Concern. All animals have had their conservation status updated following 2021 IUCN Red List. If you would like to revert this change, you can use Thom's Happy Animals hack to remove biome and space needs for all animals. All animals once again have biome and space needs, so they can be used to play the game the "normal" way.

Larger animals take a longer time to reach full size. All animals now grow up slowly instead of instantly. All animals now have a juvenile stage between young and adult (28 were missing it), using the female model and skin by default. You can see the lifespans in detail on this sheet. Pregnancy and incubation times have also been adjusted. Age to sexual maturity has also been adjusted, and in many cases is different among sexes. Lifespans once again represent average lifespan (in captivity or wild, whatever is greater) and not records. All animals have had their lifespans adjusted to 1/5 of their real life lifespan, following what AD did for their first animals. You can see the sizes in detail on this sheet. Size dimorphism has been added when relevant, and young and juvenile stages have also been rescaled accordingly. Sizes represent average size, except on old animals (see below) which use record sizes. All animals have been resized using the same scale (Snowleo's learn set fences). This patch was made by myself, Lgcfm, as well as Mjmannella, Megraptor and anabeille directly editing files, and we also want to thank Summjoke, Okeanos, Thom, Ulquiorra and Demon Hunter who allowed us to use some of their work to include directly or modified for this pack, and of course all Aurora Designs members for their beautiful original work. If you remember my RR variants, this is an upgraded version of that pack. Likewise, this patch also aims to make animals as realistic as possible, while keeping gameplay in mind and accomodating for people playing on any game mode. The intention was to fix these problems and inconsistencies, all the while respecting Aurora Design's work and intentions on creating this pack (as evidenced by info available on their website and forums).
However, it does have some bugs and inconsistencies, most likely due to being made by a lot of people with different interests and priorities over a long period of almost 10 years. Radical Remake is probably the most influential and widely used ZT2 usermade content, and personally one of my favorites.
